Andrea Guevara Terán is an attorney from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and an associate at the Intellectual Property and Anti-Piracy Department. Andrea has an important professional career, which began in 2013, in the exercise of different areas of law; however, her main practice includes legal, judicial and extrajudicial advice and sponsorship, to national and international companies on the protection of intellectual property rights as well as on anti-piracy issues. Additionally, she has worked as an external legal advisor on IP matters and currently continues to be a tutor for students from different universities who are close to obtaining law degrees. Regarding her academic training, she achieved a Procedural Law Higher Specialization at the Simón Bolívar Andean University, which has been transversal for her professional practice in several areas of law. In recent years, she has simultaneously practiced as an urban planning attorney, while also working as a consultant on multi-scalar projects throughout the Ecuadorian territory. In mid-2022, she successfully completed an international internship at the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), representing Latin America and is close to obtaining her master's degree in Urban Studies.
